Hans Price Academy continues to impress with its ‘good’ rating from Ofsted, a testament to its ‘high expectations’ and the ‘sense of belonging’ it instills in its students.
The Weston-super-Mare academy has consistently held a ‘good’ rating since 2013, a status reaffirmed in the latest Ofsted assessment released on January 22. The report lauds the school’s dedication to maintaining a positive culture and upholding rigorous standards.
During the two-day inspection, Ofsted’s team evaluated various aspects including lessons, pupil work, leadership, and interviewed stakeholders. Lead inspector Victoria Griffing emphasized the positive culture cultivated over the years and endorsed the school’s provision.

The report highlighted the school’s emphasis on creating a sense of ‘belonging’ and fostering warm relationships. It noted the encouragement of pupils to take responsibility, develop resilience, and emphasized the school’s commitment to providing a safe and caring environment within its ‘learning families’.
Noteworthy in the assessment was the commendation for the school’s ‘ready to learn’ policy, supporting pupils in making the right choices and maintaining a calm and orderly environment conducive to learning. Ofsted also praised the academy’s effective safeguarding, expert teaching, and carefully-designed curriculum.
Acknowledgment was made of the wide range of extracurricular activities available to all pupils, as well as the highly-personalised support for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they receive tailored assistance when needed.
The positive feedback from Ofsted has been met with enthusiasm by leaders at Hans Price Academy and its parent trust, the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF). The head of school, Adrian Esch, expressed pride in the community and the culture cultivated, emphasizing the commitment from staff, students, and families.
