Glastonbury’s Secret Act ‘Patchwork’ Unmasked as Britpop Legends Pulp

Glastonbury Festival’s highly anticipated secret Pyramid Stage act, known only as ‘Patchwork,’ has been unveiled as none other than the legendary Britpop band Pulp. This exciting reveal comes courtesy of SecretGlasto, a respected insider source renowned for accurately confirming hidden performances at Worthy Farm over the past decade.

On Monday, June 9, at 10 AM, SecretGlasto delivered the big announcement via a captivating video montage shared on Twitter and Instagram. The 35-second clip featured Pulp’s classic hit ‘Common People,’ alongside a soundbite from keyboardist Candida Doyle discussing her patchworking hobby on BBC Radio 2. Frontman Jarvis Cocker then chimed in, describing Glastonbury as “the best music festival I’ve ever been to, easy.”

The video also includes a playful exchange with former BBC Radio 1 presenter Scott Mills, who asks, “Would you step up?” Cocker replies intriguingly, “If it was a life-or-death situation,” fueling excitement among fans.

Pulp’s connection to Glastonbury runs deep. The band famously stepped in as headliners in 1995 after The Stone Roses canceled and later topped the bill in 1998. This year marks the 30th anniversary of their iconic performance and the release of their influential album ‘Different Class,’ which cemented their status as Britpop royalty.

In an interview with the BBC, SecretGlasto’s representative Ad hinted at more confirmed headliners yet to be announced for this year’s festival. “Of the four main slots, I think we’ve got three of them, maybe four, nailed down,” he said. “It’s definitely artists with strong ties to the festival, with some emotional returns and unfinished business to settle.”

This has sparked speculation that artists like Lewis Capaldi—who faced an emotional halt to his 2023 set—or Lana Del Rey, delayed during her 2024 performance, could also be making a comeback.

SecretGlasto emphasized their trusted network across record labels and artists: “Bands don’t want empty secret sets. We’ve had artists approach us directly when secrecy is part of the plan.”

Last week, Glastonbury unveiled its full lineup, boasting over 2,000 acts across more than 100 stages. Fans can use the official Vodafone Glastonbury app to organize their schedules, share with friends, and even track their steps over the sprawling eight-mile site.

While TBA slots are no longer searchable, attendees can browse complete lineups by stage and mark favorite acts to follow the festival’s unfolding musical surprises.
