Glastonbury Man Charged with Assaulting Emergency Worker and Other Offences

Leslie Roper, 46, from Glastonbury, has been charged with a total of eight offences following a series of incidents in Somerset. The charges include assaulting an emergency worker and making off without payment. These events took place in Bridgwater and Street on Wednesday, February 25.

Roper appeared in Taunton Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 27. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to stand trial at the same court on Friday, April 17.

In addition, Wayne Shortland, 41, of Buckland Close, Glastonbury, was also charged jointly with making off without payment connected to the incident in Street on February 25. Shortland has been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
