Glastonbury Festival Stars Soothe Vocal Cords with Local Somerset Honey

Performers at this year’s Glastonbury Festival will have access to soothing honey sourced from a Somerset farm to help protect their vocal cords. Black Bee Honey, a beekeeping collective based in Shepton Mallet, has been named the official honey provider for the iconic Pyramid Stage.

The partnership means jars of Black Bee’s trademark Summer Honey will be stocked in the dressing rooms for singers and bands to enjoy before hitting the stage. This multi-floral runny honey is harvested during the summer from carefully tended apiaries across Somerset, Northamptonshire, and Yorkshire.

Founded by Paul Webb and Chris Barnes, Black Bee Honey began when the duo, former office colleagues with a shared passion for bees, started keeping hives in their gardens 20 years ago. Today, they oversee the care of over a million bees and collaborate with beekeepers nationwide to produce their range of award-winning honeys.

“We’re thrilled that Glastonbury has chosen a local supplier,” said Paul Webb. “We hope artists like Sir Rod Stewart, Neil Young, and The 1975 will enjoy our Summer Honey to warm and soothe their vocal cords before stepping onto the Pyramid Stage.”

Each jar proudly features the beekeeper’s name and location, highlighting the collective’s commitment to transparency and quality. Black Bee Honey’s dedication to bee welfare and local sourcing makes it the perfect fit for the world-famous music festival.
