Glastonbury Festival 2024: Drone Show Lights up Opening Night

The 2024 Glastonbury Festival kicked off in Pilton, Somerset with a stunning drone display and fireworks over the Pyramid Stage. The highly anticipated drone show, featuring 576 drones, was designed by the local company Celestial and was inspired by themes of peace and unity.

As festival goers arrived on Thursday, the Met Office forecasted some showers but assured that a complete washout or scorching heatwave was unlikely. The weekend is expected to be mostly dry with cooling temperatures. Thursday’s weather is predicted to be a little cloudy with isolated showers but also plenty of sunny spells. With a high of 21C, the festival can expect some breezy conditions throughout the day.

Amidst the festival activities, NHS Somerset has shared advice on staying well during the expected warm weather, aiming to ease pressure on health and care services.

Headliners for the main stages are set to perform from Friday onwards, including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain. Thursday’s lineup features various talents such as Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, Shygirl, Joy Orbison, MJ Cole, Joe Wicks, and Sir Michael Eavis.
