Glastonbury Farmers Feature in New Marks & Spencer Butter Campaign

A family-run Somerset farm is set to star on national television as part of Marks & Spencer’s newest advertising campaign promoting its exclusive range of butters. Brue Valley Farm, located in Glastonbury, will be showcased this month as part of the retailer’s Farm to Foodhall initiative.

Brue Valley is a fifth-generation farm that originally began as a cider producer before expanding into dairy in the 1950s. In the advert, farmers Natalie and Simon Clapp share their passion for butter-making with celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, highlighting their handcrafted Collection butter range.

Natalie Clapp said, “We’re thrilled to be featured again in M&S’s Farm to Foodhall campaign. Creating these unique Collection flavours has been incredibly rewarding, and the positive customer feedback has been wonderful. I’m always experimenting with new recipes here in Somerset, so stay tuned for what’s next.”

Amy Chandler, M&S’s Specialist Technical Manager, praised the partnership: “Working with Natalie and Simon to craft the finest Collection butters for customers across the UK is a privilege. This advert highlights the dedication and care that go into every batch of hand-rolled flavoured butter, and it’s inspiring to collaborate with such a passionate team committed to quality.”

Currently, Brue Valley supplies M&S with three distinctive butter varieties: garlic & herb, parmigiano & truffle, and ’Cowboy’ — a bold, smoky butter infused with smoked paprika, chipotle chili flakes, and cayenne pepper.

The butter is made from milk sourced from West Country cows and is churned in a traditional barrel churn for approximately 40 minutes—about ten times longer than conventional production methods. This careful process creates a richer, creamier flavour that sets their butter apart.

M&S’s Farm to Foodhall campaign includes TV adverts, in-store promotions, online presence, and social media, following Tom Kerridge as he visits suppliers across the UK to share the stories behind their products. Kerridge is well-known for his roles on MasterChef, Great British Menu, and Saturday Kitchen.

Brue Valley’s artisanal butters are available at selected M&S stores and online through Ocado.
