Glastonbury Extravaganza Concert: A Special Thank You to Locals

On Saturday, August 9, the stunning grounds of Glastonbury Abbey will come alive for the much-loved Glastonbury Extravaganza concert. Organized by the Glastonbury Festival as a heartfelt thank you to the local community, the event promises an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.

Headlining the concert is the internationally acclaimed band The Script, fresh from their powerful performance on the Pyramid Stage. Joining them are the soulful Freya Ridings, the dynamic Steve Whalley Band, and the harmonious Wells Cathedral Oratorio Society. The night will culminate in a breathtaking fireworks display, continuing a cherished tradition that lights up the summer sky.

Formed in 2008, The Script—Danny O’Donoghue (vocals), Glen Power (drums), Ben Sargeant (bass), and Ben Weaver (guitar)—quickly rose to fame with hits like “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven.” With six Number One albums to their name, they bring a powerhouse performance guaranteed to captivate the audience.
