New Zealand singer Lorde has expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of performing at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, despite not being included in the official line-up. Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley show, the 28-year-old artist said she is “pretty keen” to see if she can “pull some strings” to secure one of the festival’s unannounced slots.
The official schedule, released earlier this week, features a diverse lineup including Irish rap group Kneecap, pop singer Charli XCX, and headliners such as The 1975, Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts, and Olivia Rodrigo. However, several TBA (to be announced) slots remain, fueling speculation about Lorde’s potential surprise appearance.
Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, has a history with Glastonbury, having performed on the Other Stage in 2017 and the iconic Pyramid Stage in 2022. Reflecting on her experience, she described the Pyramid Stage as “absolutely unbelievable” and “so beautiful,” emphasizing the festival’s grandeur and emotional impact.

Lorde’s upcoming album, Virgin, is set to be released on June 27, coinciding with the festival dates from June 25 to June 29. Her connections within the music community include close friendships with artists like Charli XCX, who is slated to play the Other Stage on Saturday night. The two recently collaborated at Coachella, performing a joint rendition of “Girl, So Confusing.”
Having risen to fame with her 2013 hit “Royals” from the album Pure Heroine, Lorde has since released Melodrama (2017) and Solar Power (2021), solidifying her place in contemporary music. Fans eagerly await the possibility of catching her live at Glastonbury 2025, especially given her expressed interest and the open TBA slots.
This year’s Glastonbury also features artists across genres including US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye, and legendary rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will take the stage during the coveted legends slot.
