Gieves & Hawkes, the renowned British tailor known for its exquisite ready-to-wear suits and refined casualwear, has opened a new store in Bath, perfectly timed for the festive season. The shop is nestled within the charming Shire’s Yard development, a lively shopping arcade in central Bath home to popular spots such as The Botanist, famous for being the filming location of the TV show First Dates.
Jason Gerrard, Managing Director of Gieves & Hawkes, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “Bath has long been a city where Gieves & Hawkes has maintained a strong and loyal following. Opening our new store in the exceptional Shire’s Yard development allows us to be part of a vibrant community here. This location underscores our long-term commitment to Bath and the Southwest. We are excited to welcome customers to discover the unique British luxury that defines Gieves & Hawkes.”
With roots dating back to the late 18th century, Gieves & Hawkes is the result of a historic union between two legendary military tailors. Gieves, established in 1785 as a supplier to the British Royal Navy, and Hawkes, founded in 1771 supplying the British Army, merged in 1974. Since then, the combined brand has maintained a prestigious presence on London’s Savile Row, alongside stores in Birmingham, Chester, Leeds, and Winchester.
