Yesterday evening, a fire broke out in a garden on Priestley Way in Burnham-on-Sea, quickly spreading to two nearby homes. Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed due to the smoke in the air while a police cordon was established to support emergency services.
Nine fire crews worked through the night to contain and extinguish the blaze, which was finally put out over 13 hours later. One home was severely damaged, with another nearby property suffering moderate damage. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the fire was confirmed to be accidental by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
