In the early hours of Thursday, May 22, a large group of teenagers unleashed a spree of vandalism on Saint Augustine Street, Taunton, causing significant damage to vehicles and a nearby business. Between 12:55am and 1:10am, between 10 and 20 youths, aged 12 to 17 and dressed predominantly in dark clothing, targeted the area.
The vandals reportedly threw a golf club which shattered a business window. Additionally, bottles taken from recycling bins were smashed on the road, and concrete blocks were thrown—one of which was used to break a car windscreen. Numerous vehicles in the vicinity also suffered damage during the rampage.
Avon and Somerset Police have described one suspect as a white male in his early to mid-teens, wearing a black coat, black top, and black shorts. Some of the youths were noted to be wearing hoods and shorts.

In response to the incident, neighborhood officers have increased patrols, which will continue during the ongoing investigation.
