Frome’s New Ranger, Mike Wright, is Transforming the Town Centre

Frome’s town council has recently added a new member to its ranger team. Mike Wright joins as the latest addition, with a specific focus on keeping the central areas of Frome clean and tidy.

Mike’s primary responsibilities include the maintenance of street furniture and ensuring that public pavements and footpaths are well-kept. Although street cleansing falls under the jurisdiction of Somerset County Council, the increasing number of complaints from Frome residents led the town council to take proactive measures.

Rob Holden, Frome Town Council’s environment manager, emphasized the importance of public areas, acknowledging their impact on people’s daily experiences. He mentioned that while the council already tends to parks and green spaces, local issues require local solutions, thus the decision to recruit Mike.
