Food WorksSW Enhances Support for Small Producers with New SALSA Auditor and Lab Partnership

The Food WorksSW, a regional food and drink innovation centre based in Weston-super-Mare, has significantly expanded its support for small producers by introducing a new auditing qualification and partnering with a leading scientific laboratory.

Beth Winters, the centre’s Technical Manager, has recently become an official Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) Auditor. SALSA is a nationally recognised food safety certification scheme designed specifically for small food producers. In her new role, Beth will provide expert auditing services to help businesses meet vital food safety standards and navigate the certification process.

“I’m excited to join the SALSA team,” Beth commented. “This role enhances my ongoing commitment to supporting food businesses with practical advice and auditing expertise, helping them achieve and maintain high standards of food safety.”
