Five Ponies Seriously Injured in Dog Attack Near Ellicombe

Five ponies sustained significant injuries following a dog attack in a field near Conygar Woods, Ellicombe. The animals were discovered with wounds on their faces, necks, legs, and stomachs, all requiring immediate veterinary care.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8. Local police authorities, Avon and Somerset Police, are currently investigating the attack.

White Lodge Vet Clinic - Companion Animal, who treated the ponies, released a statement on social media appealing for information. They specified that the attack took place in the field adjacent to the footpath between the old college farm (Apex Centre) and the nearby 20-acre car boot field along the old A39.

The vets urged anyone with information to contact Avon and Somerset Police directly and reference crime number AS-20251008-520, asking the public not to comment on social media.
