The production crew behind the BBC thriller A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is set to return to the quaint Somerset town of Axbridge next week to complete filming for the show’s second series. Moonage Pictures, the company producing the series, has been capturing scenes around Axbridge over recent months and will be back from Thursday, June 5 through Monday, June 10.
During this period, parking spaces in The Square will be suspended from the evening of Saturday, June 7 until Monday, June 9 at 7 pm. Traffic wardens will manage road movements to minimize disruption while filming takes place. Key locations like the local drugstore and Oakhouse Pub will serve as backdrops for the production.
Axbridge Town Council expressed gratitude to residents for their patience during filming and confirmed one final short period of disruption is expected later this month. A spokesperson from Moonage Pictures apologized for any inconvenience caused: “We understand the impact on travel time, and we apologize sincerely for any disruptions. We strive to reduce inconvenience by releasing parking spaces when possible.”

The production team also thanked the community for their warm support: “We are grateful to the people of Axbridge for their ongoing cooperation and openness to hosting the filming in your beautiful town.”
The council further revealed that revenues generated from filming fees will directly benefit the town. Currently, council members are navigating the planning process to convert a field donated by the family of Derek Law into a public recreation space. Derek Law, a much-respected local resident who passed away at age 95 in 2021, bequeathed the land specifically to be preserved for community use.
“A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone in Axbridge for your cooperation during this busy filming period,” the council representative said. “We hope you’ve appreciated the unique experience of filming taking place here. The funds from these productions will contribute to creating a new recreation area that the whole community can enjoy.”
Final plans for the donated field are being carefully developed to ensure it remains an open space for leisure, in line with the Law family’s wishes. Meanwhile, Axbridge residents can look forward to the last scheduled filming activities in early June.
