Paul’s leadership spanned crucial initiatives that have left a lasting imprint on Frome. He played a pivotal role in reclaiming Frome Town Hall as a vibrant community hub, securing the town’s green belt including Whatcombe Fields, and preserving numerous green spaces and allotments vital for community well-being.

He also championed local initiatives like Fair Frome and supported countless community groups, enriching the town’s social fabric. Under his guidance, Frome developed a remarkable community resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic—a strength that continues to empower residents as they navigate an uncertain future together.

Fiona Barrows, chair of Frome Town Council, expressed deep gratitude for Paul’s contributions. “Paul’s creativity, hard work, and leadership have established Frome Town Council as a beacon of innovation and ambition. His commitment to our community is woven into the very fabric of this organisation.”

As Paul steps down, Peter Wheelhouse, deputy town clerk and economic regeneration manager, will assume the role of acting town clerk. The council is confident in Peter’s ability to lead during this transition period as the search for a permanent replacement begins.

Frome Town Council joins the entire community in wishing Paul Wynne a happy and well-deserved retirement, honoring a remarkable career that helped shape Frome’s present and future.
