A family’s weekend camping trip turned into a distressing experience when they were confronted with appalling conditions at Parkdean Resorts Lizard Point Holiday Park. Sarah Keenan, 34, had planned a special getaway to celebrate her daughter Zara’s fourth birthday and booked what she believed was a high-end campsite at £75 per night for her family.
However, upon arrival, the family discovered bathrooms smeared with faeces and showers clogged with “ankle-deep hairy water.” Sarah was horrified by the state of the campsite, which she described as “vile”. Despite the staff’s assurances of thrice-daily cleaning, the facilities remained in a deplorable state, leading Sarah to express her disgust and disappointment.
The family’s disappointment continued as they found the swimming pool littered with clumps of hair. Sarah felt that the unsanitary conditions had ruined her daughter’s birthday weekend and felt sorry for other campers who had traveled from different areas only to encounter similarly unpleasant facilities.
