Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Beloved Dad Killed in Biker Crash

The family of Rob Best, 62, have made a touching tribute following his tragic death in a crash on the A36. Rob, described by loved ones as a “good husband, father, son, brother, and friend,” was travelling to Normandy with a friend when the fatal incident occurred on Saturday morning, March 31.

The collision, involving a car and four motorcycles, took place at approximately 10:30 am in Knook. Rob sustained fatal injuries, while three other motorcyclists were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

In a statement shared by Wiltshire Police, the family expressed their gratitude to those who stopped to help: “On Saturday, March 31, our beloved Robert Best lost his life in a road traffic accident. We are deeply thankful to those who assisted Rob and his friends while waiting for emergency services.”

Rob was admired for his adventurous spirit, having celebrated his 60th birthday by climbing the Empire State Building and enjoyed scuba diving in Mauritius. He and his companion from his local scooter club were eagerly anticipating their next adventure in Normandy when tragedy struck.

He leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends, all profoundly affected by his passing. The family has requested privacy as they come to terms with their loss. “His absence leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled. Rob touched many lives and will live on forever in our memories.”
