Both Weston-super-Mare and Yate Town were eliminated from the FA Cup during second qualifying round replay matches on Tuesday night.
National League South club Weston-super-Mare, who reached the third round last season before being defeated by Grimsby Town, travelled to Dorset to face lower-tier Wimborne Town following a 1-1 draw at home on Saturday.
The replay remained scoreless during the 90 minutes of regular time, but the tie opened up in extra time. Weston-super-Mare took the lead in the 94th minute through a goal from George Robesten. However, Wimborne Town responded in the 109th minute when Matt Villa equalised, forcing the match to a penalty shootout. Wimborne ultimately prevailed 4-3 on penalties, ending Weston’s cup run.

Meanwhile, Yate Town faced Chippenham Town after a 0-0 draw in their initial second qualifying round match on Friday. In the replay, both teams struggled to find the breakthrough during the first half. The deadlock was broken in the 66th minute when Chippenham defender Ben Richards-Everton scored from close range. The visitors quickly responded two minutes later as Marlon Jackson levelled the score at 1-1.
The match was decided in extra time when Chippenham midfielder Felix Miles seized an opportunity in the penalty area, netting the winning goal in the 99th minute. This goal ensured Chippenham’s progression and saw Yate Town’s FA Cup campaign come to an end.
