Extensive Extension for Bath Park & Ride Service

In a move aimed at benefiting visitors and workers, the Bath Park & Ride service has been extended until 11.30pm from Monday to Saturday. This extension, announced in Bath & North East Somerset Council’s budget earlier in the year, is set to run on a trial basis from April 7th to August 31st, allowing people to stay longer in the city.

The extended service will operate at all three council sites – Newbridge, Odd Down, and Lansdown, making it easier for individuals to enjoy more time in the city in the evenings. This decision comes following the service being voted the country’s second-best Park & Ride.

With the aim of supporting local businesses, improving the visitor experience, and providing greater convenience for workers and tourists, the council has made the move to offer later service hours. Additionally, the Park & Ride service offers 10 single journeys at a cost-effective price of £14.80, with services running every 15 minutes into the city centre, boasting a combined total of 2,806 free car parking spaces for its users.

Cllr Manda Rigby, Cabinet Member for Transport, expressed excitement about the extension, emphasizing the benefits it brings to those working late or wanting to explore Bath’s offerings into the evening. Describing the Park & Ride service as a sustainable and hassle-free transport option, Rigby urged people to take advantage of the trial period. The council also remains open to exploring similar offers in the future if the extension proves popular.
