Bath is soon to be home to a new open-fire restaurant and cocktail bar, Emberwood, which is already generating excitement with a sneak peek at its menu. The establishment will showcase a culinary spectacle as food is prepared “with theatre” in the open kitchen and charcoal-fired hearth, providing a unique and immersive dining experience for guests.
Executive head chef David Hazell will be at the helm, crafting dishes that spotlight the best produce Somerset has to offer through locally-sourced ingredients and seasonal cooking. Anticipation is building as some menu highlights have been disclosed, assuring a celebration of the rich agricultural bounty of Somerset and the South West with a fresh modern twist in the desserts.
In addition to the exceptional dining experience, Emberwood will feature a luxurious bar area serving a curated selection of wines and signature cocktails designed to reflect the surrounding countryside and the art of British mixology. The cocktail list is being meticulously crafted by a team of experts, including Zoe Burgess, author of The Cocktail Cabinet and director of drinks consultancy Atelier Pip.

Emberwood is an integral part of the multi-million pound refurbishment of the Francis Hotel on Queen Square and pays tribute to architect John Wood senior, a former resident of the Georgian building on Barton Street.
The comprehensive menu at Emberwood will encompass starters, main courses, desserts, and an array of meticulously crafted cocktails, promising to elevate the dining experience.
Set to open in May, reservations for Emberwood will be available starting April 3.
