Rachel Gilmour MP has publicly endorsed the monumental Dulverton Weir Restoration Project, describing it as the most important conservation undertaking on Exmoor in a generation. During a dedicated visit, she spent several hours engaging with volunteers and trustees of the Dulverton Weir & Leat Conservation Trust to understand the ongoing restoration work.
Her visit included a comprehensive tour of the historic weir and leat, followed by detailed discussions on how her office can assist in securing the project’s future. Ms. Gilmour commended the scale and significance of the initiative, declaring, “The Dulverton Weir & Leat Project is probably the biggest project on Exmoor in a generation. I support it and will do everything I can to help.”
Highlighting the vital role that local groups play, she said, “Local groups, such as the Dulverton Weir & Leat Conservation Trust, are at the heart of our communities. Their shared purpose provides the glue which holds our communities together. We look forward to working closely with the Trust.”
