Geraldine White, a beloved estate agent with over three decades of service in the Chard community, has tragically died after a horse-riding accident on October 25. At 76, Geraldine was the Assistant Manager at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Chard Residential Office, where she had been a dedicated and familiar presence since joining the firm in 1993.
Throughout her career, she built lasting relationships with hundreds of buyers and sellers, earning a reputation for her professionalism, unwavering commitment, and infectious energy. A spokesperson for Greenslade Taylor Hunt expressed deep sorrow, noting, “Geraldine was a highly valued and loyal member of our team. Her passion for her work and her commitment to excellence were unmatched right up to the end.”
Beyond her professional life, Geraldine embraced an active lifestyle. She was an avid horse rider and endurance competitor, known for her love of long-distance treks, often covering 30 miles or more on foot. Her competitive spirit and kind nature made her a well-respected and dearly missed friend and colleague.
Heather Giles, chair of the Dorset Long Distance Walking Association and Geraldine’s close friend of 25 years, reflected on their shared adventures. “Geraldine was one of the most generous people I have ever met. We rode, organized events, socialized, and walked countless miles together. Our last trek was along the Ridgeway in September last year, and even after that long journey, we remained close companions,” she shared.
Geraldine White’s legacy is marked by her dedication to her profession, her passion for the outdoors, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She will be profoundly missed by family, friends, colleagues, and the wider community.
