The Environment Agency has announced plans to enhance safety measures at two weirs in Somerset. The improvements include replacing steps at both Lovington Weir and Somerton Weir, as well as installing handrails and access ladders at each site to ensure safer public access.
These proposals were detailed in public notices published on 10 September 2026. Members of the public are invited to submit written comments regarding either project within 30 days from the notice’s publication date.
