England’s Premier Blue Flag Beaches and Seaside Towns for 2025

A classic British day at the beach is a beloved tradition, especially when the sun is shining and the temperatures are rising. From savoring freshly battered fish and chips to dipping your toes in crystal-clear waters or enjoying a creamy Mr Whippy cone, England’s coastline offers something special for everyone.

But with over 70 Blue Flag beaches awarded in England, where should you head this summer? These prestigious Blue Flag accreditations highlight beaches that meet the highest standards for water quality, safety, environmental management, and accessibility.

Awarded by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, these flags reflect a collective commitment to preserving England’s coastal gems. Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton OBE emphasizes the importance of these spaces:
“As an island community, the quality of our beaches and blue spaces is crucial—not only for the environment but also for the economy, notably tourism and employment. Achieving Blue Flag status is a testament to the dedication of local authorities, beach managers, volunteers, businesses, and residents who work tirelessly to protect and enhance our coastlines.
