Emerging Band Westside Cowboy Secures Glastonbury 2025 Slot

Westside Cowboy, a rising band with a unique “Britainacana” sound, has claimed the coveted opportunity to perform at Glastonbury 2025. The emerging talent competition, which drew submissions from numerous performers, concluded with the band’s well-deserved victory.

Participating in a rigorous selection process that involved thousands of artists, Westside Cowboy ultimately emerged victorious after a dynamic display of their musical prowess. The group, comprising Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell, and Paddy Murphy, impressed the judges with their blend of country, folk, indie rock, and punk influences.

In addition to securing a spot on the Woodsies Stage at Glastonbury 2025, Westside Cowboy also received a £5,000 Talent Development prize from the PRS Foundation. Their triumph signifies a remarkable milestone in their 18-month journey as a band, and they expressed deep appreciation for the support received.

The competition’s runners-up, including Ghana-born, Gloucester-raised Neo-soul/hip-hop artist Nat Oaks and Welsh language singer-songwriter Mali Hâf, were also acknowledged and rewarded with a £2,500 Talent Development prize each. Furthermore, both runners-up were granted the opportunity to perform at the festival.

Judging the competition were esteemed figures such as Glastonbury stage bookers and music industry professionals, underscoring the significance of the accolade for Westside Cowboy.
