Bath Rugby has confirmed that tighthead prop Kieran Verden has signed a one-year contract extension, reinforcing the club’s front row options for the upcoming season.
Since making his professional debut in 2020 against Worcester Warriors, 25-year-old Verden has established himself as a vital squad member. He has consistently stepped up during international windows, providing crucial cover at tighthead when Thomas du Toit, Will Stuart, and Archie Griffin are away on national duty.
To date, Verden has made 34 appearances for Bath, including a notable starting role in the club’s victorious PREM Rugby Cup match against Exeter Chiefs in the 2024/25 season.

With this new deal, Verden commits his future to Bath Rugby through the 2026/27 season. He joins fellow tighthead props Vilikesa Sela and Will Stuart in pledging their loyalty, while Thomas du Toit will depart at season’s end to rejoin the Sharks in South Africa.
Johann van Graan, Bath’s head of rugby, praised Verden’s dedication: “We’re thrilled Kieran is staying on. He perfectly represents our team ethos—always putting the club and teammates above himself. Kieran embodies our family-first values and the determination that makes us tough to beat.”
Verden expressed his enthusiasm about continuing with Bath Rugby: “Renewing my contract here means a lot to me and my family. The fans make The Rec an incredible atmosphere on match days. I’m excited to keep pushing for success with this club.”
