An elderly man has tragically died following a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, June 11. At approximately 10:35 a.m., a white Fiat Panda was traveling along Sutton Hill in Closworth, near Yeovil, heading toward the A37 junction when it left the road and crashed.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene. The driver, a man in his 90s and the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to the hospital but sadly passed away a few hours later.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine what led the car to leave the roadway. Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the Fiat Panda prior to the incident to come forward.

A police spokesperson expressed condolences, saying, “His family have been informed and are receiving support from a specially trained officer. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
