Early Christmas Shopping Event Targets £2 Million for Hospital Charity

Rockbourne Fair is back, bringing festive cheer and vital fundraising to Wiltshire with its eagerly anticipated three-day event at Salisbury Racecourse from Wednesday, October 15 to Friday, October 17. Featuring over 100 carefully curated stalls, the fair expects to welcome thousands of visitors passionate about supporting Salisbury Hospital’s Stars Appeal.

Last year, the event raised a record £62,081, which funded essential services and equipment at Salisbury District Hospital, including cancer support, new diagnostic technologies, free Wi-Fi, emergency supplies, and chaplaincy services. Bev Moulding, chair of the Rockbourne Fair committee, expressed pride in the event’s impact: “Every ticket, every coffee, every gift purchased adds up to something much bigger. We’re excited to see how much more we can achieve together in 2025.”

Recently, the committee visited the hospital to present the 2024 donation and witness firsthand how funds are being utilized. This year’s fundraising efforts contribute to the Stars Appeal’s ambitious £2 million target, supporting projects such as a play assistant on Sarum Children’s Ward, parental accommodation, bereavement support, and providing clothing and toiletries for patients in crisis.

Excitingly, over 30% of the stallholders at the 2025 fair will be newcomers, showcasing an array of luxury fashion, skincare, artisan foods, and homeware. Visitors can also enjoy late-night shopping on Thursday, October 16, with dining options ranging from the on-site restaurant to a new outdoor pizza van. Complimentary parking will be available throughout the event, making it easier than ever to join the festivities and support a great cause.
