Dunelm Yeovil Store Reopens After Major Fire with New Cafe and Expanded Departments

Following a devastating fire that gutted the original building last year, Dunelm has triumphantly reopened its Yeovil store after an extensive seven-month refurbishment. Located in the Quedam Shopping Centre, the fully transformed 24,003 sq ft store now features updated departments, refreshed displays, and exciting new additions including an expanded Made to Measure curtain department and a brand-new Pausa Café.

The fire, which broke out in the roof on August 25, 2024, caused significant smoke and water damage to the entire building. Thankfully, the cause was accidental, and after a careful rebuild, Dunelm’s team is back serving the local community with an enhanced shopping experience.

Shoppers can now browse a wider selection of homewares spanning furniture, soft furnishings, décor, kitchenware, and storage—all showcased alongside Dunelm’s latest Autumn, Winter, and Christmas seasonal collections. The heart of the store is Dunelm’s expanded Made to Measure department, where expert staff assist customers in designing bespoke curtains, blinds, and shutters tailored perfectly to their homes.

To celebrate the grand reopening, the first 100 customers received exclusive goody bags filled with Dunelm products, and 20 golden tickets worth £5 to £20 were hidden throughout the store for some lucky visitors. Meanwhile, the new Pausa Café provides a welcoming spot for customers to relax and enjoy a meal. It serves hot and cold dishes, including treats from a festive menu, with donations supporting Age UK from select items. Families benefit year-round from the ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer, where children receive a complimentary mini meal for every £4 spent by an accompanying adult.

Kelly Warnock, Store Coach at Dunelm Yeovil, reflected on the journey: “The fire was devastating for our team and community, but the support from local people has been incredible. Our new store is brighter and more spacious, full of fresh inspiration. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back.”

The reopening marks a significant milestone for Dunelm and the Yeovil community, heralding a fresh start filled with new products, services, and spaces designed to inspire and delight every customer.
