Driver Rescued After Dramatic Two-Car Crash in Somerset

A serious collision in Somerset resulted in one driver being trapped inside their vehicle.

The accident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, at Holton near Wincanton, involving two cars.

Firefighters from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service arrived swiftly to find one driver still trapped in their car. The crews made initial contact to assess the driver’s condition while awaiting paramedics.

Upon the arrival of ambulance personnel, fire crews and paramedics coordinated efforts to safely extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was successfully freed and promptly handed over to the ambulance team for further medical care.

A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service stated: “This morning, crews responded to a two-vehicle road traffic collision where one driver was trapped on arrival. After assessing the situation and working closely with paramedics, we were able to safely remove the driver and ensure they received immediate medical attention.”
