Driver Rescued After Car Overturns in Field Near Frome

A driver was trapped and had to be carefully cut free after their car rolled onto its side in a field near Kilmersdon, close to Frome. The single-vehicle accident occurred around 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Emergency services received a call from Avon and Somerset Police informing them of the trapped driver. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service rapidly dispatched crews from Frome and Radstock to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the car had left the roadway and overturned in the field. They immediately stabilized the vehicle and collaborated with ambulance personnel to create a safe rescue plan.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., crews removed the car’s windscreen to carefully guide the driver out. After the successful rescue, the driver was handed over to ambulance staff for medical attention. The incident was promptly brought under control with the coordinated efforts of all responding teams.
