A driver was trapped inside a vehicle that veered off the A361 and ended up among trees near Selwood, close to Frome, Somerset. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 21.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue (DSFR) dispatched three fire engines to the scene, including one from Frome and two from Wiltshire stations at Trowbridge and Warminster.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the single car lodged in the trees with the occupant trapped inside. To safely free the individual, crews first cleared the surrounding foliage and then removed the driver’s door, allowing them to assist the casualty out of the vehicle.

Emergency services including ambulance and police were also present to provide support.
A DSFR spokesperson confirmed the details: “We responded promptly to a report of a road traffic collision on the A361 near Frome. The vehicle had left the road and was found in the trees with the driver trapped inside. Our crews worked to gain access by clearing foliage and removing the driver’s door, enabling us to safely rescue the occupant. Ambulance and police crews were also on site.”
