Dream Come True as New Mini Kingdom Soft Play Opens in Yeovil

Yeovil is set to welcome its first dedicated indoor soft play area for children, Mini Kingdom Soft Play, which will officially open its doors on Saturday, July 26. The opening ceremony, marked by Town Mayor Councillor Tony Lock cutting the ribbon, will take place at 12 noon on Sea King Road. The event promises fun for kids, featuring live entertainment by a local performer and the debut of the center’s mascot.

Mini Kingdom Soft Play is the brainchild of the Harris family from nearby Martock, who saw a need for a safe and engaging environment for toddlers after the birth of their daughter. Their vision was to provide a space where children can play freely, discover their imagination, and grow in a welcoming atmosphere.

Co-owner Nat Harris shared the inspiration behind the new center: “After having our son two years ago, we noticed there were very few local play options for young kids. We wanted to create a place that’s not only fun and imaginative but also inclusive and safe.” Alongside her husband Callum and his parents Stacey and Kerry, the family has worked hard to build the facility almost entirely themselves—crafting the kitchen, party rooms, toilets, and furniture—with only the soft play structure custom-made.

Mini Kingdom offers three distinct zones catering to different age groups: a baby area for under-twos, a toddler section, and a junior zone for children up to 10 years. The center also provides special sessions designed for children with special educational needs (SEN) up to age 16.

Parents can relax in comfort, enjoying a café area complete with hot drinks and freshly prepared food, while their children explore safely. The venue also boasts two themed party rooms—the Potion Party Room and The Enchanted Garden—each designed to bring children’s party dreams to life.

The Harris family emphasizes their commitment to community, having involved local tradespeople—from electricians to artists—in the center’s creation. They are proud to have created eight new jobs and look forward to supporting families across Yeovil and beyond.

Mini Kingdom Soft Play operates daily, offering two-and-a-half hour sessions. Entry is priced at £3.50 for babies under one year and £6.50 for older children, with sibling discounts available. Party bookings cost approximately £17 per child and include access to the magical themed rooms.
