In a harrowing 100mph police chase across Wiltshire’s narrow country roads, Daniel Kibblewhite, 31, of Westbury, made the costly mistake of trying to outrun the law—and a fearless police dog named Stan. Already wanted by authorities, Kibblewhite’s reckless flight put countless lives at risk.
The pursuit began when officers spotted Kibblewhite driving an uninsured vehicle without a licence. Ignoring the danger, he sped away through tight bends at over 100mph, performing hazardous overtakes and unpredictable maneuvers. His desperation grew as he fled into a farmyard, abandoned the car, and hid in a horsebox, but his efforts were doomed.
Police Dog Stan quickly sniffed him out. Despite repeated warnings not to run, Kibblewhite bolted again—only to be swiftly brought down by Stan, whose determined bite ended the chase. Caught on camera, Kibblewhite shouted pleas: “Get him off me, man. He’s biting me… I’ve got PTSD.” Even as officers handcuffed him, he protested: “It’s all on camera that I got PTSD from you.”

Kibblewhite appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on August 20, where he pleaded guilty to multiple offenses including dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, failing to stop for police, refusal to provide a specimen, and racially aggravated public order. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Wiltshire Police reported that on July 10, intelligence led officers to track Kibblewhite’s vehicle on Bradford Road near Bathampton. His dangerous actions included reckless overtaking on blind bends and speeds exceeding 100mph. When police lost sight, they traced him to a farmyard, where staff confirmed his vehicle had swept behind a warehouse. Kibblewhite fled on foot upon seeing police, but his escape ended moments later thanks to PD Stan.
PC Layton of the Volume Crime Team condemned Kibblewhite’s conduct, noting the severe risks posed to the public: “There is no excuse for such reckless driving. A collision at those speeds could have been fatal. After fleeing, Kibblewhite tried to hide, but he was no match for Police Dog Stan.”
