Firefighters from Wincanton and Yeovil responded swiftly to a car fire in West Camel, Somerset, yesterday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 2:35 pm on Friday, July 11, between Yeovil and Castle Cary.
According to Wincanton Fire Station’s Facebook update, the thick column of smoke was visible from a considerable distance, alerting both emergency services and local residents. Upon arrival, the Yeovil crew immediately began extinguishing the flames, while Wincanton firefighters prepared breathing apparatus to safely tackle the blaze.
Despite the sweltering heat and exhausting conditions, the teams worked efficiently and brought the fire under control without delay. Their prompt action prevented further damage and ensured the safety of the surrounding area.
