Nicholas Cash, 26, a convicted domestic abuser who fled to Thailand to evade justice, has been found and arrested following a rigorous three-year international search. Cash was charged with multiple serious domestic violence offenses stemming from a prolonged campaign of abuse against a former partner between February and November 2020.
While awaiting trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, Cash escaped to Thailand in October 2022. In early 2023, the case drew public attention with an internationally coordinated manhunt after Cash was convicted in his absence of controlling or coercive behavior, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage, and administering a harmful substance with intent.
Sentenced to serve eight years in prison, Cash’s capture involved extensive collaboration between Dorset Police, the National Crime Agency, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the Royal Thai Police. On December 23, Cash was arrested on Thai soil, and extradition procedures are now underway.

He expressed hope that Cash’s arrest would provide some solace to the victim and reiterated the ongoing support to global partners in combating domestic abuse.
