Nicholas Cash, a convicted domestic abuser who escaped to Thailand to evade justice, has been found and arrested following a relentless three-year manhunt. At 26 years old, Cash was charged with multiple offences related to a prolonged campaign of domestic violence against a former partner between February and November 2020.
Cash reportedly fled to Thailand in October 2022 while awaiting trial at Bournemouth Crown Court. After being convicted in his absence in early 2023, the court sentenced him to eight years in prison for charges including controlling or coercive behavior, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage, and administering a noxious substance with intent.
Authorities from Dorset Police collaborated with the National Crime Agency, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the Royal Thai Police during the international search. Their combined efforts culminated in Cash’s arrest by the Royal Thai Police on December 23.

Detective Constable Michael White of Dorset Police expressed appreciation for the teamwork involved: “We have worked tirelessly since Cash was convicted to pinpoint his location and ensure he faces justice. This operation required close cooperation with national and international partners. We remain committed to serving justice for the victim and her family, who have been kept informed throughout. This case signals a clear warning that fleeing abroad will not shield offenders from the law.”
Dan Newell, Regional Manager at the National Crime Agency, added: “Cash fled with complete disregard for the harm he caused. Together with international partners, we tracked him down and made sure he faced the consequences. We hope this arrest brings some closure to the victim. The NCA will persist in supporting efforts worldwide to bring perpetrators of domestic abuse to justice.”
