A popular dog café that gained national attention on the BBC’s Dragons' Den is making its way to Somerset this month. The innovative pup party, hosted by Pop+Bark, invites dog owners to bring their furry friends to the Library bar in Taunton for a uniquely themed event celebrating Cocker Spaniels—with special time slots for pugs, dachshunds, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and Cockapoos.
The event offers Cocker Spaniels the chance to roam off-leash in a secure environment, socializing and playing for 80 minutes of joyous canine fun. Dogs will enjoy a range of activities including toy destruction, bubble chasing, ball games, and tasty treats. An exclusive highlight is the “Pupuccino Bar,” serving dog-friendly beverages topped with blueberries, cheesy biscuits, and gravy bones.
Adding to the excitement, the pop-up café embraces a “Cosmic Disco” theme, featuring sparkling decorations, space-inspired costumes, and an intergalactic atmosphere that promises to delight both dogs and their human companions.

Owners and dog enthusiasts alike are welcome, whether they already have a dog or are considering adding a Cocker Spaniel to their family. The event fosters community connection among dog lovers and offers plenty of opportunities for memorable photos.
Pop+Bark was founded by Anushka Fernando and James Morgan, who appeared on the 2023 season of Dragons' Den. Their journey began with the personal story of their pug Bertie, whose spinal surgery prevented usual puppy socialization. Inspired, Anushka organized meet-ups to help Bertie—and soon other dogs—connect. This concept blossomed into themed indoor events celebrating various breeds, reaching dog lovers nationwide.
Anushka shares, “While we’ve held many popular breed events, our Cocker Spaniel gatherings turned out to be a big hit in London. Knowing Taunton’s love for dogs, bringing the party here was a natural choice. With fun photo spots, the Cosmic Disco vibe, doggy furniture, and props, this event is sure to create the happiest party ever!”
Mark your calendars for the Cocker Spaniel Café on Sunday, May 25, at the Library bar, Taunton. It’s a must-visit for dog lovers and their furry friends.
