Devoted Dad and Grandad Remembered in This Week’s Somerset Funeral Notices

Sharing the news of a loved one’s passing through local media is a cherished tradition, and we are honoured by the trust placed in us to announce these significant moments. Each funeral notice published in our newspaper and on our website also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk, the UK’s leading platform for death notices and memorials. These notices remain accessible online indefinitely, offering a lasting tribute and a supportive space for friends and families to share memories, post tributes, upload photographs, and make donations in honour of their loved one.

Every week, we pay tribute to those who have passed in our community through funeral notices and dedicated online remembrance pages. To view current announcements or to add your own tributes, please visit our website or contact our team at 01482 908084 for assistance in placing a notice.

This week, we remember several beloved community members:

Eric of Lower Bromdon, Wheathill, aged 83, passed peacefully on 6th June 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his funeral service will be held at St Mary The Virgin Church Bromfield on Wednesday 24th June at 2 pm, followed by a private committal. Donations in his memory support the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

We also remember many other treasured individuals, each with their own unique legacies—be it charitable work, community involvement, or loving family roles. Their stories of devotion, resilience, and kindness live on in the hearts of those who knew them.

The funeral services listed honour the lives of those who have departed and offer opportunities for friends and family to gather, remember, and celebrate precious memories. Flowers are traditionally given at these services; however, many families kindly request donations to causes dear to their loved ones.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all families who have lost someone dear and invite you to celebrate their lives through tributes on funeral-notices.co.uk. May their memories bring comfort and peace.
