Police have released a detailed description of a suspect following the serious sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Bath. The incident occurred in a wooded area adjacent to the Clarks Way playground in Odd Down between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that a man in his 40s was arrested last week but has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue. Detective Inspector Hannah Marsh from the serious sexual offences team, Operation Bluestone, emphasized the seriousness of the case and the extensive efforts underway to identify the perpetrator.
“Our investigation is supported by significant resources, including over 300 hours of recovered CCTV footage and active forensic analysis,” said DI Marsh. “We are committed to supporting the victim and her family throughout this process and encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-forties, with a short, multicolored beard featuring black, white, and grey hairs. He has brown eyes, a single dark-colored stud or hoop piercing in one ear, and two black ink words tattooed on his neck.
At the time of the assault, he was reportedly wearing a black cap with a logo, a blue t-shirt with a left chest pocket, white knee-length shorts, a watch, and black and orange hiking boots with long laces.
