Warren Morgan, a devoted father from Yeovil, recently completed the London Marathon, raising nearly £2,000 to purchase a much-needed new minibus for his daughter’s special school in Somerset.
Despite battling a crippling calf injury, Warren finished the marathon in just over 4-and-a-half hours, marking an emotional and triumphant end to his incredible fundraising effort.
Warren’s 10-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Sotos Syndrome at 18 months old and is a student at Fairmead School, where she and around 150 other children receive exceptional education and support. The school caters to individuals aged 4-19 with various needs, such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Moderate Learning Difficulties, providing invaluable assistance with activities, resources, and regular outings, including visits to the forest school.

The school’s current minibus, in use for over 20 years, is in dire need of replacement and the funds raised by Warren, in addition to other school fundraising events, will contribute to the purchase of a new one. The new minibus will enable the students to continue their community outings, which are crucial to their development and well-being.
Warren expressed on his GoFundMe page, “The school has been incredible with my daughter and therefore I will be running the London Marathon in 2025 to raise funds for them to put towards purchasing a new minibus. This will not only benefit my daughter but also many other SEN children who attend.”
Warren’s wife Claire, who awaited his finish at the marathon, described the experience as “What A Weekend!!”
