Couple Sought After Speaking to Man on Somerset Station Platform Before Fatal Incident

Avon and Somerset Police are urgently seeking two individuals who spoke with a man shortly before he tragically died at Highbridge & Burnham railway station last month.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Monday, June 23, when officers were alerted to a casualty on the tracks. The 44-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, and his family has been informed.

Witnesses reported that the man had been lying on the opposite platform just before the incident. A man and a woman, both estimated to be in their 30s, approached him to check on his welfare and engaged in a brief conversation before leaving the station.

Authorities are appealing to these two individuals to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. Anyone who knows their identity or is one of the people described is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting BTP on 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40.
