Comprehensive Road Resurfacing Plan Set for Bath and Surrounding Areas

Bath & North East Somerset Council is launching a major £5 million road improvement programme aimed at enhancing highway conditions throughout the region. This initiative includes nearly £1 million dedicated to resurfacing footways, alongside vital maintenance on other infrastructure elements such as street lighting, drainage systems, public rights of way, and bridges.

The resurfacing works are scheduled to commence immediately and will continue through to the end of summer, ahead of the colder, wetter months when roadwork becomes more challenging.

Councillor Lucy Hodge, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Transport Delivery, emphasized the importance of this effort: “Maintaining our roads in top condition is a key priority for us, and residents rightly expect consistent upkeep. This programme, complemented by our daily repairs like pothole fixing and inspections, ensures we meet those expectations.”
