Co-op’s New Store in Somerset Town Offers Expanded Range and Services

Co-op has unveiled its new store in Castle Cary, Somerset, signaling a significant upgrade for the town. The relocated store occupies a spacious 3,000sqft area in The Triangle, a vast improvement from its former location on Fore Street. This expansion also translates to a boost in local employment, with 15 new positions created.

The revamped store boasts an in-house bakery, a convenient Costa Coffee Express machine, and an increased emphasis on fresh and healthy products. Shoppers can expect an expanded selection, encompassing food-to-go, meal deals, Fairtrade items, pizzas, flowers, ready meals, everyday essentials, and acclaimed wines.

April Mattravers, Co-op’s Store Manager, expressed her excitement about the launch, emphasizing the store’s enhanced range and customer offerings. She underlined the Co-op’s commitment to delivering quality, choice, and value, while also contributing to the local community.

In addition to the standard offerings, the store features payment services through PayPoint and a parcel collection point for Amazon orders. Notably, the store supports soft plastic recycling, enabling customers to responsibly dispose of materials like crisp packets, bread bags, ready meal lids, biscuit wrappers, and pet food pouches.

Operating from 7am to 10pm daily, the store is designed to cater to the convenience and shopping needs of the local community, providing an array of products and services.
