Following a significant investment, a Bristol Co-op has revealed the transformation of its Brislington convenience store, the Broomhill Road location. The refurbishment not only supports 14 local jobs but also represents the second Co-op store in the area to undergo a similar upgrade, with the Avonmouth store also receiving a revitalization.
Spanning 3,000 square feet, the remodeled Broomhill Road store now boasts an in-store bakery, a Costa Coffee Express, and an expanded assortment of fresh produce, healthy selections, and on-the-go food items. Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers, ready meals, award-winning wines, and daily essentials are also available for shoppers.
In an effort to reduce carbon emissions, the site has introduced new refrigeration systems, while also incorporating a soft plastic recycling point for items such as crisp packets, bread bags, and pet food pouches. The store has also implemented self-scan tills to enhance speed and convenience during peak shopping hours.

In addition to the physical upgrades, the store will serve as a fulfillment hub for Co-op’s quick commerce service, enabling grocery home delivery through its proprietary platform and partners Just Eat, Uber Eats, and Deliveroo. Members of the Co-op stand to gain from personalized offers and reduced prices on essential items through the membership scheme. The retailer is also running a sizable value campaign, matching Aldi prices on over 100 everyday products, including fresh fruit, milk, eggs, and bread.
Highlighting Co-op’s commitment to supporting British farmers, all fresh meat and ingredients used in prepared meals, pies, and sandwiches are locally sourced.
Lucas Holbrook, the store manager, expressed enthusiasm about the store’s revamp, emphasizing the team’s dedication to enhancing the shopping experience for the local community.
The store will be open daily from 7am to 10pm.
