Clarks Village Sales Surge as Shoppers Embrace Retail and Leisure Experience

Clarks Village has witnessed a remarkable 14.2% increase in sales between April and June this year compared to the same period last year, according to data from its owner, Landsec. This impressive growth is driven by a blend of enthusiastic visitors exploring new brands and enjoying recently refreshed stores.

Landsec’s latest report highlights a strong quarter across its portfolio of leading retail destinations, with notable year-on-year rises in both sales and foot traffic. This follows a record-breaking performance across its retail centers, underscoring the sustained appeal of physical shopping experiences.

The period from April to June, noted as the sunniest on record, has inspired shoppers to upgrade their wardrobes and indulge in summer fashions, reflected in a 9.3% increase in clothing sales year-over-year. Health and beauty sectors also benefitted greatly, with sales up 15.1%. Overall footfall at Clarks Village climbed by 3.8%, emphasizing consumers’ preference for in-person shopping where they can enjoy more than just retail.

Chris Davis, the Centre Director at Clarks Village, expressed enthusiasm about the results: “Our strong sales and footfall growth shows that people are eager for experience-driven, in-person shopping. Clarks Village is not just an outlet – it’s a complete day out where visitors can shop exclusive outlet deals on designer and high street brands, enjoy all-day dining, take in beautifully landscaped gardens, and participate in seasonal events. This unique blend is why we continue to excel and innovate.”

Adding to the recent success, Clarks Village has expanded its offerings with exciting arrivals such as the vibrant and purpose-led fashion brand Scamp & Dude, British menswear label Hackett, and new refreshment options including the quaint Lanes Coffee trailer and a Marshfield Farm ice cream pop-up. Additionally, several stores including HARIBO, Skechers, Le Creuset, The North Face, and Sunglass Hut have undergone stylish refits, further enhancing the shopping environment.
