Haywood Village Academy has once again been rated outstanding in every category by Ofsted, with inspectors praising the students’ “impeccable” attitudes towards learning. During a comprehensive two-day inspection, Ofsted evaluators met with staff, pupils, and parents, scrutinizing teaching across multiple subjects. The school was commended for its exceptional leadership, behaviour, personal development, early years provision, and overall quality of education.
Lead inspector Caroline Musty highlighted the academy’s “highly effective and ambitious” curriculum alongside extensive personal development opportunities. “Pupils flourish at this happy and caring school,” she stated. “A strong emphasis is placed on understanding each pupil, with excellent relationships between staff and children that foster effective learning.”
The report underscored teachers’ solid subject knowledge and noted that pupils, from pre-school onward, were highly motivated, attentive, and displayed great pride in their work. Special educational needs pupils were found to thrive thanks to carefully tailored support and practical adaptations.

Ofsted also admired the school’s outstanding citizenship programme, which celebrates diversity and awards certificates to pupils who exemplify core values. This broad personal development scheme enables students to gain a meaningful understanding of the wider world.
Principal Craig Jones expressed delight at the report, saying, “These judgements reflect our team’s ongoing commitment to excellence in every aspect of school life. We’re grateful to our families and the Haywood Village community for their continued support and involvement.”
Year 6 pupil Nelesh shared, “Reading the report made me feel really proud to be part of this school.” Year 5 student Pippa added, “I was thrilled to learn how well our school was doing.”
Steve Taylor, CEO of the Cabot Learning Federation which oversees the academy, praised the school’s sustained excellence: “Haywood Village has been a brilliant place to learn since it opened. Maintaining outstanding standards is often more challenging than achieving them, and what this team and community have accomplished is truly exceptional.”
