Champions Cup Semi-Final Venues Set as Bath Rugby Poised to Host Northampton Saints

Bath Rugby will play their semi-final match away from the Recreation Ground if they progress past Northampton Saints in the 2025/26 Investec Champions Cup quarter-finals, regardless of the weekend’s outcomes.

The European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), organizers of the Investec Champions Cup, have announced four potential venues for this season’s semi-finals. The clubs with the highest pool stage rankings will benefit from home country advantage.

Bath Rugby’s quarter-final clash against Northampton Saints at the Rec on Friday will determine which English side moves forward to face the winner between Bordeaux Bègles, last season’s champions, and Toulouse.

If Bordeaux Bègles win, the semi-final will be hosted at their home stadium, Stade Atlantique Bordeaux Métropole, just seven miles from their usual Stade Chaban-Delmas ground.

Conversely, should Toulouse advance, the semi-final will be held in England at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes, approximately 104 miles from Bath’s Recreation Ground. The match will take place the weekend of May 2-3, 2025.

The Investec Champions Cup Final is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, at the Bilbao San Mamés Stadium.

The confirmed potential venues for the semi-finals are:

  • Stade Atlantique Bordeaux Métropole, Bordeaux, France
  • Stadium MK, Milton Keynes, England
  • Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland
  • Stade de la Méditerranée, Béziers, France

Semi-final matchups will be finalized shortly after the conclusion of the quarter-finals.

Last year’s semi-finals attracted record crowds, with more than 42,000 spectators attending the Leinster Rugby vs. Northampton Saints match at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, and the Union Bordeaux Bègles vs. Stade Toulousain game at Bordeaux’s Stade Atlantique.
