Celebrity chef and TV personality Rosemary Shrager recently surprised guests and staff at The Old Thatch Inn in Cheriton Bishop, Devon, with an unexpected visit. After tasting their renowned fish and chips, she declared them the finest she’s ever had.
Sharing her delight on Instagram Stories, Rosemary praised the village pub’s dish, saying, “I have to tell you, I have just had the best fish and chips – thin, crispy batter. Pierre Koffmann’s potatoes – oh my gosh! His chips are amazing, wonderful. And the peas with mint and butter were lovely. Everything was perfect, especially the homemade dill tartare sauce. Seriously, it’s worth taking the turn from the A30!”
The pub’s landlord and head chef, Richard Grasske, who runs The Old Thatch Inn alongside his wife Kate, expressed his gratitude for the chef’s visit and kind words. “We’re absolutely honoured by Rosemary’s praise. Her enthusiasm means the world to our team here.”
